The Anatolian Scholarship Program weaves a sentimental fabric by bringing students together from all over Anatolia.
After leaving my village in Diyarbakır, I started studying in Batman and moved on to high school at TED College in Istanbul. Following my year at Koç University in 2016, I started working at the finance department at Tüpraş Batman Refinery. I will always remember my years at Koç University, the Anatolian Scholarship Program and my donor, the Eti family. I feel very lucky to have experienced the environment and opportunities at Koç University. The academic setting on campus was very supportive and fruitful, in which everyone could self-improve according to their personality and goals. Thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, I could benefit from the resources provided by the Anatolian Scholarship Program which weaves a sentimental fabric by bringing students together from all over Anatolia. Our family is expanding each year with new students and becoming stronger with its graduates. I thank the Anatolian Scholarship Program for its contribution to my life and every sentiment it has created in me.
The awe-inspiring Anatolian Scholarship Program is a creative initiative designed to make a difference in people’s lives.
After Sivas Anadolu Öğretmen High School, I enrolled at Koç University and graduated in 2017. Now I am a law intern in Istanbul. For five years at Koç University, I participated in cultural and sports activities where I could relax, motivate myself and take some time off from the stress of the academic workload. I learned from these activities as my awareness for my surroundings improved. Adding to the high quality, contemporary and inclusive education at Koç University, the seminars and symposiums I attended broadened my vision. The awe-inspiring Anatolian Scholarship Program is a creative initiative designed to make a difference in people’s lives. I am glad to be one of the students who have experienced this change. During my years at Koç University, I tried to make my academic journey more pleasant with internships both local and abroad, and I thank my donor for this. I hope for the existing and potential donors to give us their support. This program carries us to an unknown journey, and those who are a part of it should experience it in the best way possible.
Each year we get the chance to meet with our donors at the annual donor appreciation dinner.
The Anatolian Scholarship Program is a unique scholarship program that practically gives students a second chance to pave their way to success. I had the opportunity to study at one of the best schools of medicine in Türkiye. In our medical training, which takes places at Koç University Hospital in the last three years of School of Medicine, I had the chance to improve myself both in the academic and clinical field. For new students at Koç University, my advice would be to spare time for social and club activities. Each year we get the chance to meet with our donors at the annual donor appreciation dinner. I would like to thank our donors for supporting this program and providing us with such opportunities. I believe the Anatolian Scholarship Program is an innovative scholarship program that opens doors for its students.
Given our country’s conditions, the Anatolian Scholarship Program creates equal opportunity and gives students a chance to dream of a better future.
Koç University has the qualities one can dream about an academic institution, and I am proud to have studied here. It offers all the academic, social, arts and sports facilities that a student can imagine. Plus, besides our own department, the Core Program offers us courses in different fields. This helps us improve ourselves in a diverse range and study other fields we have interest in. When I first heard of the Anatolian Scholarship Program, I had difficulty believing in its sincerity since I had never come across one like it before. Being a part of such a program is a great and unique opportunity. Given our country’s conditions, this program creates opportunity, and gives students the chance to dream of a better future. I feel very lucky to have attended a world-class school like Koç University. I thank my donor, Tofaş, which I feel happy to be a part of.
The Anatolian Scholarship Program is a dream that can be realized by those students who know no boundaries, want to challenge themselves and change the world.
During my prep and freshman year at Koç University, I went to France and England for foreign language education with the help of Office of International Programs. I also took French courses at school. After my freshmen year I went to France with Erasmus Internship Scholarship for an internship on endocrine diseases; after my sophomore year I interned at Johnson & Johnson Pharmacology department with YASED Scholarship, and after my junior year I interned on gynecology in England. For my elective internships during my fifth year, I worked on gynecology in Australia. I found about my last two internships through my advisor and got scholarship from the Dean’s Office. I completed Gender Studies Certificate Program provided by The Center for Gender Studies at Koç University. I took part as a board member in the executive board of many student clubs and in the organizational teams in national and international activities. Back in high school, I could not have imagined the things I have accomplished so far. Koç University gave me the opportunity to realize things that were once unimaginable. I would like to thank my donor, American Hospital, for giving me this chance and supporting the Anatolian Scholarship Program. This program is a dream that can be realized by those students who know no boundaries, want to challenge themselves and change the world with their education.
I thank my donor for supporting the Anatolian Scholarship Program and hope that these investments for the future set an example for everyone else.
The Anatolian Scholarship Program is where equality of opportunity in education can be achieved for many students. I thought my university placement exam score would be standing on my way to achieve what I want, and I found this to be unfair. At that very moment, the Anatolian Scholarship Program helped with my despair and said, “Here is Koç University!” There are a few projects in Türkiye that give this much importance to equality of opportunity in education. Therefore, I thank our donors who support this program and hope that these investments for the future set an example for everyone else.
Global Exchange Program at Koç University provided me with the scholarship that met all my needs as if I was studying in Istanbul.
I was born in Tekirdağ and went to Kabataş Erkek High school in Istanbul as a boarding student. I graduated from Koç University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics in 2017. Currently, I am employed at Bain & Company as a senior associate consultant. Since the day I set foot at Koç University, I felt support in every way possible. In my third semester I started double majoring in Economics. I studied one semester in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which is a globally renowned, top ranking school. In the Global Exchange Program, the Anatolian Scholarship Program provided me with the financial aid that met all my needs as if I were in Istanbul. As an Anatolian Scholar I gained experience that was otherwise beyond my reach. I had my internship at Akkök Holding, my donor. I had the opportunity to work with professionals who were my role models. As an Anatolian Scholar I had all means to accomplish what had only been a dream before. This is a revolutionary initiative for our country. I would like to thank Koç University and my donor, Akkök Holding.
Friendships it enables to build, the network of successful people it introduces and with its emotional contributions to a person makes the Anatolian Scholar Program priceless.
In my last year at Koç University, I feel sad that this fantastic journey as an Anatolian Scholar came to an end, yet I am excited to start working with all my gain from this institution. As I look back, I can see that being a part of this family was a wonderful opportunity. In fact, this is the end result of mutual work and perseverance. Friendships it enables to build, the network of successful people it introduces and its intellectual contributions to a person make this program priceless. This year, besides my major, I will also be graduating from Psychology. I worked for projects in India for four years, I lived in Tokyo for six months, I received a design certificate, and I took part in many creative projects. I feel a bit nervous yet ready for the outside world. I would like to thank everyone who made this possible, Koç University, Koç University Corporate Relations Office and my donor, Mavi.
